Which lamp is suitable for the DigiStar ballast?

Solution

The DigiStar ballast is a very high frequency ballast. Normal 50 Hz HPS lamps can fail on them because the wireframe bends (which can ultimately lead to breaking lamps) and the arc tube can show acoustic resonance. This is not uncommon for 50 Hz lamps when used on a real high frequency ballast.

That's why we prescribe to use high frequency lamps. Unfortunately they are not available for every market, so we have introduced the Gavita Enhanced HPS lamp which is certified to work on the DigiStar ballast and guaranteed for a year of use.
